Community, Participation & Volunteering Manager
The contract is full time and permanent, and the annual salary is £33,000. Your working time will be 37.50 hours each week. The employer, National Trust, is a charity. You will be based at Ormesby Hall, which is an estate, which could mean diversity in the role. Note some estates are far from public transport. It is located in North Yorkshire.

The role covers Tees Valley and North Yorkshire Moors and Coast. Ormesby Hall sat in 248 acres in a densely populated urban area within South Tees is the main office base , but also over 6000 acres of land comprising of moorland, coast and woodlands. This role sits on the leadership team and is a key role in understanding how Culture, Nature and Experience can thrive, working with our communities, visitors and volunteers to reduce barriers to end unequal access to Nature, Culture and History.
You will be leading a team of four and working alongside other teams to understand how Culture, Nature and Audience Experience are part of a shared story. From our historic house and collections to our moorland and coastline, we need you to lead on co-creating partnerships, programmes and experiences that reflect the diversity and richness of the communities we serve. The role will lead on the work that every child should grow up with opportunities to explore nature and experience wonder. Our communities should feel welcome and heard. Our staff and volunteers feeling valued and supported.
Developing our stories and programmes with our collection’s teams, building on our brilliant events programme and leading on projects, understanding who are our communities and how we can help, who should we prioritise and how can we make a difference working in partnership.

- well versed in building effective partnerships and managing various stakeholders through change

- deep knowledge of community engagement, participatory practice and inclusive volunteering
- strategic thinking and strong analytical skills
- excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- experience of leading change and building partnerships across sectors
- a proven ability of creating positive, inclusive experiences for communities, partners and volunteers
